LAMP is the classic stack for PHP websites: Linux, the Apache web server, a MySQL-compatible database and PHP. It runs WordPress, Drupal, Joomla, Laravel and most other PHP applications.

The VPS.org one-click install uses Ubuntu 22.04 and installs Apache with mod_php, MariaDB and PHP with the common extensions (curl, gd, mbstring, xml, zip, mysql). It sets a random MariaDB root password, removes the anonymous database users and the test database, enables mod_rewrite, and places a placeholder page plus a phpinfo page in /var/www/html.

After the install, delete /var/www/html/info.php, point your domain at the server, and add a free Let's Encrypt certificate with Certbot. Firewall rules and backups are yours to configure.

Kukhazikitsa Guide

Choose LAMP Stack at checkout. The server installs the stack on first boot, which usually finishes a few minutes after the server comes online; progress is logged to /var/log/lamp-install.log. Upload your site to /var/www/html or create Apache virtual hosts in /etc/apache2/sites-available.
