The Vietnamese Professionals Society (VPS) is a non-profit worldwide membership organization of Vietnamese professionals. The VPS membership comprises hundreds of professionals from various fields such as education, law, medicine, dentistry, pharmacy, accounting, physical science, engineering, computer, business, et cetera. The VPS also welcomes university students to become associate members of the Society.

Since its inception in January 1990, the VPS receives tremendous support and encouragement from Vietnamese people throughout the world. As of 2000, VPS has 25 chapters throughout North America, Europe, Australia and Asia. As a worldwide organization, VPS is a forum for Vietnamese professionals to meet and to extend their social and professional networks.

The Southern California chapter of the VPS is mainly active in the Little Saigon community. Our activities range from monthly workshops in various professional fields to special community events.

The mission of the Vietnamese Professionals Society (VPS) is to increase the knowledge and understanding of the social and economic conditions in Vietnam, to promote the welfare of the Vietnamese people and, through international cooperative effort, to apply science, technology, and humanity to the renovation of Vietnam.

The goals of the VPS are:

• To facilitate the exchange of professional information, the interaction between Vietnamese and non-Vietnamese professionals, and between groups of Vietnamese of different professions.
• To provide the opportunity for students, professionals, and the public to learn about the current conditions and needs in Vietnam.
• To provide the necessary resources for the process of renewal of Vietnam.
• To contribute toward the advancement of the welfare of the Vietnamese people, and to the formation of a democratic Vietnam.

The Vietnamese Professionals Society and its members approve and promote the ideals of Democracy, Freedom, Justice, Civil and Human Rights. The Vietnamese Professionals Society and its members oppose all activities that benefit the dictatorial regime.
